Couple questions... why use Avenatti as the conduit to leak information? Of

all the potential figures to go public, an attention seeking lawyer for someone suing the target seems ill chosen if the intent was to disseminate the info in a credible manner.

Also, if my cursory understanding of allegations is correct, and money was funneled to Cohen by a Russian oligarch... why would Mueller pass off the Cohen raid to the Southern District of NY? That would seem to fall smack dab in the middle of Mueller's mandate to investigate Russian meddling in the election.

Considering Mueller interviewed some of the players in this recent story awhile back, I find it reassuring that the probe is way ahead of each tidbit we're getting from tangential leaks.
